The Urge to Travel

I've always been drawn to the map.

Especially the map of the Earth or at least bits of it on a continental scale. If I had past lives, one of my most profound ones was that of a sailor or explorer. Ever since I was little, I had a globe in my room (mostly used as a door stopper since my closet wouldn't close) and I'd spin it and imagine the vastness each continent holds. I'd observe the intricate dance of water and land and imagine what their horizons looked like. I'd examine the land masses and their cities and towns and how they're structured and where they intersect. The feeling that emits from my gut isn't very easily replicated by much else. A semblance of profundity mixed with wonder and awe is the best way I can describe it. Like, "Wow, all of this exists..."

It's like looking into something full of such intricacy and wonder you couldn't begin to explore it all even if you had a hundred years. It's a limitless vessel of exploration, like many other things I enjoy. Just the concept of traveling these borders and landmarks is one of the most exciting things in the world to me. I can't wait for when I finally am able to.

As I said in my about, I haven't stepped foot outside of the United States. There's plenty I haven't even explored in here. Yet every time I do go on long road trips, I love it. I love the long car rides, the stopping at new and unseen places, or distantly familiar ones. I've also been on planes to travel within the country a few times and it's not uncommon to crave the feeling of going through an airport or flying on the plane again. There's a level of anxiety surrounding it but it's something I enjoy deep in my soul and I can't trace back why.

I've also found myself drawn to other cultures, ideas, and beliefs. Like my purpose is to sponge all this knowledge and form it into one big collective love for humanity as a whole. To combine and make compatible every single woman man and child. Which, with the state of the world, isn't exactly feasible. Even I find myself quite incompatible with certain belief systems, but very few. Generally it's because most people veer toward the same truth, that love trumps all. I truly believe this.

There honestly isn't really much to say about it. Just a small fragment that points to the greater truth.
